The Mann brothers, Gorki, Tolstoi or Johann Strauss strolled along the prestigious villas of the Gruenderzeit-period.

They enjoyed the clear air of the sea and felt the spirit of a golden era, which they captured in their work.

In 1863, Theodor Fontane wrote in a letter to his wife Emilie 1863:

"... there are peace and fresh air and the two things combined have a tremendous influence and fill nerves, blood, lungs with joy"
