Bad Doberan Cathedral | The cathedral in Bad Doberan is an impressive Gothic brick construction, built as a monastery church and completed in 1386. The interior furnishings date from the 14th. Century; especially impressive are the altars (carved winged altar, Eucharist altar) and the choir stalls. |

Bad Doberan Cloisters | The
Cistercian cloisters were founded in 1171. Together with the
cathedral they still represent a large part of the encircling wall and
some buildings, such as the charnel house, the granary and the brewery
remain preserved. The ruins of the hostel and a part of the cruciform east wing are still standing. |

Classicistic Buildings | Several classic edifices were built around the Kamp at the beginning of the 19th. century to Severin’s plans, including the Salon in 1802 and the former Palais in 1810. Nearby are two pavilions which are well worth seeing. The smaller of the two is an octagonal half timbered structure dating from 1809 and the larger oval one is in the "Chinese" style. |

"Moeckel-Haus" The museum is housed in the residence of Moeckel, former building adviser to the court. The house was completed in 1887and the painted gables, the cast iron gallery landings and the leaded glass windows have been well preserved. The interesting exhibits in the museum include a history of the early German bathing resorts. |

"Molli" Narrow Gauge Railway | The oldest narrow gauge railway on the Baltic coast, begun in 1886 with the 5,6 km long
spur from Bad Doberan to the Baltic resort of Heiligendamm, the "white town by the sea". It was
completed and commissioned in 4 weeks. The track was extended to the Baltic resort of Kuehlungsborn, the "green town by the sea", on the 12. May
1910. The train has a 900 mm gauge and takes about 45 Minutes to make the 15,4 km journey. |

The Kuehlung | The Kuehlung is one of the landscapes formed during the last Ice Age, consisting of a range of wooded hills with a maximum elevation of 130m. above sea level. The forested region, with its fells, valleys, ravines and streams, offers the ideal conditions for extended walks and cycle tours. |
