On the Mühlenberg

The 30m. high Dutch windmill dates from 1878 and reopened in 1970. After a five year reconstruction programme it is now a landmark of which the city is justly proud. Today you can find a glas-blower and a little galery there, which you can visit.

The malt factory built in 1893 is one of the largest and most interesting monuments northern German industrial country and modern administrative centre of the council Nordwestmecklenburg.

The 1855 as a city school building as a museum, and club house. The Municipal Museum and the city information.

Built in 1911, it served as the central water supply for the city until 1967.

The "Teufelsbackofen" and other neolithic Hun burial sites. Silent witnesses of early and prehistoric human settlement 5km. east of Grevesmühlen in the coniferous woods on both sides of the B 105/ E 22, above Naschendorf. There is a 40 metre long barrow and the legendary "Teufelsbackofen", a megalith grave consisting of nineteen monoliths, a so called "extended dolmen in a tumulus".

south of Everstorf
Dating from 1391
This stone was raised for the fallen Ludeke Mosellenburch. Expiatory stones can be found all over Mecklenburg. The majority, namely seven, in the Grevesmühlen region.

Plüschow Chateau
Built in 1763 by the Hamburger businessman Philipp Heinrich Stenglin. The initials of Grand Duke Friedrich Franz IV. are engraved over the doorway and the sumptuous stairwell inside with the many valuable rococo style stucco ceilings are well worth seeing. The chateau now serves as a culture centre for the region, where lectures, modern art exhibitions and small concerts are held.

A representative example of brick building, built in 1732 by Johann Friedrich Künnecke and modelled on Blenheim Palace near Oxford, England. There is a superb 300 m. long avenue of limes leading to the door.
