Angling in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Germany

The State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is angling country par excellence in Germany, an absolute cornucopia of 2000 large and small lakes and some 60 rivers and waterways set in unique natural countryside.
Pike, zander, eels, rudd, carp, tench and trout are just a few of the species that flourish in the lakes.
If you want to hook cod, plaice or sea trout, there is the Baltic Coast, over 1700 km. long with its bays, shallows and inlets. An angling tour in the coastal waters can also be eventful.
Fishing licences and angling permits are required. Most of the tourist offices and angling shops supply them or can help you obtain them.
