| 19399 Dobbertin | Monastery Dobbertin and park Founded by Benedictines in 1220, it was transformed into a home for aristocratic ladies in 1572. Today it is a care centre for retarded people. The buildings and the park are well preserved and cared. The unique twin-towered church in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern was rebuilt to plans by K. F. Schinkel, carried out by G. A. Demmler. There are guided tours from May to September, which are an experience for every visitor. In the park, adjacent to the monastery, the visitor can follow an educational trail to see some plants and trees. |

Marien Church The cruciform Gothic basilica is the most notable church building in Rostock. The bronze font dates from around 1290 and is the finest example in the Baltic region. The astronomical clock is a late Gothic treasure and probably came from the workshop of a Nuernberg clockmaker; it was installed in the 15th. century. The mediaeval Rochus altar, the pulpit, the high altar and the seating for the nobility with the organ above it are all worth seeing. |

18055 Rostock | Petri Church Dates from the mid 14th. century from a previous building. The 117 m. high golden steeple was destroyed in the air raids of WW2. The Gothic tower was rebuilt in 1994 and can be climbed from inside. |

Doberan Minster Completed in 1386, is the Minster in Bad Doberan an impressive high Gothic brick construction modelled on the church at Luebeck. The interior dates from the 14th. century; the altars (carved winged altar, Corpus Christi altar, novices altar) and the choir benches are especially fine pieces. |

18273 Guestrow | Guestrow Cathedral Barlach’s "Der Schwebende made this Gothic brick basilica (built between 1226 and 1390) in Guestrow well known. Notable features include the double winged altar, the 12 almost life sized Guestrow apostles, the triumphal cross dating from 1370 and many ornate tombs of Mecklenburg princes. |

Marien Church Completed in 1416. The 104 m. high is accessible and offer a superb view over Stralsund. It ranks among the masterpieces of North German Gothic brick construction and the high nave at nearly 100 m. long and over 32 m. high is one of the largest on the Baltic coast. |

18439 Stralsund | Nikolai Church Built in 1276, it stands directly adjacent to the town Hall and is a symbol of civic might. It was modelled on the Luebeck Marien Church. The interior houses a wealth of art treasures collected over several centuries. |

18439 Stralsund | Jakobi Church The finest of the three city churches, it was badly damaged in the air raids of 1944 and can only be viewed from the outside. The 68m high west tower with its ornate masonry and blind joints is especially eyecatching. |

19055 Schwerin | Schwerin Cathedral A landmark that cannot be missed, with its 117 m high steeple it is one of the finest examples of German Gothic brick construction. Climbing the steeple is quite an experience, the view of the city of Schwerin and Lake Schwerin make it worth the effort. |
| 19288 Ludwigslust | Municipal Church The municipal church was erected by master builder J.J. Busch (1765 - 1770). Noticeable are the huge altarpiece (350 sq. metres) and the court box of papier mâché decorations. |

23966 Wismar | St. George Church The Basilica was built in Wismar with three naves between the 14th. and 15th. centuries. It was seriously damaged in WW2 and rebuilding work was begun in 1990. |
| 19246 Zarrentin | The Zarrentin church and convent are located directly near Lake Schaalsee, At the beginning, the convent and church grounds together formed a closed rectangle. The convent itself was founded in 1246. After 1460, the nave was built in gothic style. |

Monastery Founded in 1298 on the south bank of Lake Malchow, it was converted in 1572 to a noble ladies’ foundation. Only a portion of the apse has survived from the former monastery building. |

Mary Church in Gnoien The church is the oldest building in the town. It is an Early Gothic brick building dated back to the middle of the 13™ century. A thorough restoration in the 19th century left its mark on the building, by providing new paintings, chairs and galleries. The Renaissance pulpit of 1598 has been removed from the interior and can now be seen in the tower area. Vaulting ornamentation of the time around 1300 have been uncovered in 1880/82 and renewed. The Late Gothic St. Mary’s altar (around 1510/20) is the most valuable piece of furnishing of the church. |
