| 18225 Kuehlungsborn | "Molli"
narrow gauge railway The first 5,6 km long stretch of track of the oldest narrow gauge railway was laid in 1886 between Bad Doberan and the Baltic resort of Heiligendamm, the "white town by the sea". It took 6 weeks to lay and put into commission. The extension of the line to Kuehlungsborn, the "green town by the sea" followed on the 12th. May 1910. The track has a gauge of 900 mm and the journey of 15,4 km takes about 45 minutes. |

134 The steam locomotive from the former Friedrich-Franz Railway is an interesting technical memorial. It is the oldest functioning wide gauge steam locomotive (ca. 1898) on the German Railways. Thanks to the dedication of the "Mecklenburg Railways Enthusiasts" society in Schwerin the "Iron Horse" is still snorting willingly along and pulling vintage carriages on special nostalgia trips. Passengers thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere on these trips through the Mecklenburg countryside. |

| 19053 Schwerin | History of Rail Exhibition The former rail workshops in Schwerin houses a small exhibition of examples from the history of rail, including period uniforms, locomotive plates, speakers and signals. |

| 17207 Roebel | The Nostalgia Steam Locomotive 52 8029 The heavy goods locomotive (built 1944) with tender belongs to the "HeiNa Ganzlin" society of Roebel and Plau. It took considerable reconstruction to put this historic loco back into commission, celebrated at the end of 1995. |

Railway Museum The covered Railway and Technology Museum houses 30 locomotives in a 400 mē hall. There are also old fire tenders, tankers and buses. The Dennis Pumper and a type 23 are two of the rarities on show there. |

Trolley Line The earliest draisine trolley line in Germany is still in existence in Fuerstenberg an der Havel. 20 pedal draisines can be rented for the 30 kilometre long track between Fuerstenberg and Templin. It leads through the superb nature park "Uckermaerkische Seen". This active excursion can be especially recommended for holidaymakers in the Mecklenburg Lake District. |
