Isle of Usedom
	17424 Heringsdorf Maxim-Gorki-Strasse	Museum Villa Irmgard The Russian writer Maxim Gorki stayed here in 1922 to convalesce after a lung infection. The museum houses reminders of him and other prominent visitors. The original decor from this time has been partially preserved. There is also a history of the resort.
	17495 Koserow Tel. 038375/ 2 02 13	Otto Niemeyer-Holstein Studio The studio of painter Otto Niemeyer-Holstein (1896-1984) in "Luettenort" houses an exhibition of his life and work. He lived on the island for 50 years.
	17449 Peenemuende Im Kraftwerk Tel.: 038371/ 50 50	Historic and Technical Information Centre The exhibition centre chronicles the development of the first ballistic missiles, the first launch of a rocket into space and the military use of the research. 18.000 people worked in the research and development facility, formerly the largest in the world. The museum chronicles the development of the "Vergeltungswaffe V2", the forerunner of the modern payload rocket. There are also documents reminding of the people who were forced to work in Peenemuende such as aliens and concentration camp inmates who perished during the development, building and deployment of this weapons system.
	17495 Koserow	Koserow Salt Houses These protected buildings in Koserow are a typical example of the maritime buildings around the coast. The houses survive from the heyday of the herring fishery in the mid 19th. century. They served then as salt stores. Herrings were salted and packed there under state supervision during the herring season.
	17406 Usedom Anklamer Tor Tel. 038372/ 75 00	Heritage Museum The gateway of the small town is the only one remaining in region. The quadrangular brick construction has survived from 1450. The Heritage Museum is in the tower and houses exhibits of traditional trades and industries in the area.
Isle of Ruegen
	18609 Binz Tel. 038393/ 22 63	Granitz Hunting Lodge The life of the nobility and the hunt are the main themes in the museum. There is also a watchtower offering a superb view over the Isle of Ruegen.
	18574 Garz An den Anlagen 1 Tel. 038304/ 1 22 12	Ernst-Moritz Arndt Museum Houses an exhibition of the life and work of E.-M. Arndt and a history of the city and the island. Arndt’s birthplace in Groß Schoritz has been designated as a memorial.
	18569 Gingst Tel. 038305/ 3 04	Historic Artisan Workshop Houses a comprehensive collection of tradesman’s tools used in their everyday work and samples of their products. Gingst managed to develop damask and linen weaving toa fine art.
	18586 Goehren	Mönchgut Museums There are four museums in the old farming, fishing and seaside resort of Goehren. The Heritage Museum and the Museumshof belong to a collection of 16th. century buildings. Visitors can see much of interest about fishery, seafaring, piloting and agriculture as well as the lifestyle of the islanders. The museum ship "MS LUISE" and the school museum at Middenhagen are also worth visiting.
	18609 Prora Tel. 037600/ 33 18	Railway Museum The covered Railway and Technology Museum houses 30 locomotives in a 400 m² hall. There are also old fire tenders, tankers and buses. The Dennis Pumper and a type 23 are two of the rarities on show there.
	18551 Sagard Tel. 038302/ 21 21	Boxing and Sport Museum A private initiative, it gives an interesting insight into the sport. One of the best known German boxers, the former world champion Henry Maske, has visited this museum and granted it his patronage.
	18581 Putbus Kastanienallee Tel. 038301/ 6 09 59	Doll and Toy Museum Also set up by private initiative, it has a collection of 300 pieces, including rare old dolls, 15 doll’s houses and 40 teddy bears in the old monkey house.
	18528 Bergen	Bergen Museum Housed in the former convent, exhibition of the history of the city of Bergen.
Isle of Hiddensee
	18565 Kloster Tel. 038300/ 3 97	Gerhart Hauptmann Memorial The writer lived in "Seedorn" house in Vitte from 1930 until his death in 1946. Five of its rooms have been preserved with their original furnishings and personal effects as a reminder of his life’s work and his time on the island.
	18565 Vitte Norderende 162 Tel. 038300/ 642-26	Heritage Museum The "Hiddenseer Goldschmuck", a fine piece of jewellery thought to have belonged to a Viking queen, is the centre piece of the exhibition which also embraces the history and lifestyle of the islanders and the flora and fauna there.
Fischland-Darß-Zingst Peninsula
