Deutsches Meeresmuseum The museum in Stralsund is unique in central Europe and the most visited museum in the whole of North Germany. The well laid out exhibition features marine biology, marine studies, deep sea fishery, man and the sea and flora and fauna of the Baltic Coast. The marine aquarium is a big attraction. It features indigenous flora and fauna and the largest pool houses a community of sharks. |

Museum in the Katharine Convent The mediaeval cloister of the former Dominican convent of St. Katharine houses a wide variety of pieces from the early and prehistory of the city and its surroundings. Exhibits date from the founding of the city in 1234 to modern times and include objets d’art, household utensils, furniture, porcelain and documents. The toy collection is especially popular with children. |
