Hiking Trail around the Eggesin Lake

For friends of nature, this circular hiking trail is a must! On the track around the Eggesin lake with 11,5 kilometres length, 19 signposts tell you about the animals living here, about rare plants and about various trees present in the forest.
The departure point of the tour is the Stettiner Straße at the
"Hotels Stadt Eggesin".   From here, a green square in a white ground leads the hiker on his way.

In Slavonic times, the Eggesin lake was called "Klesno", meaning "crabs’ scissors". This is a water plant which can be observed by the hiker even today. In 1693, the lake was 147 acres large. Today, most part of the lake is landed. Still a small part of water is there, surrounded by high reed.
Whoever likes cycling can undertake wonderful and varied tours to see the nature reserves of the district of Uecker-Randow.
