Hiking and bicycle paths
in and around the town area of Grevesmuehlen

Route 7 will be described more closely here as one of the most beautiful.
It starts and ends near Lake ‘Ploggensee’ at an information board directly near the parking lot and leads, over 18 km, past Hamberge, Everstorf, Hoikendorf, Jamel, the Southern Group of the big stone graves and Naschendorf.
Now, if you walk or ride a bicycle, you will enjoy this trip.
First the hiking path leads along the shores of Lake Ploggensee. Then, towards North the Ploggenmoor and the Ihlepohl border on Lake ‘Ploggensee’. After leaving these two wet areas, the hiking path leads over abandoned tillage.

On the left-hand-side, a bent dyke was built, trees and bushes planted on it. After this, the ground is very steep. Here, the hiking path turns into stairs. At the top of these stairs, there is a vantage point, offering a view reaching into the "Kluetzer Winkel" and as far as the Baltic Sea. Both lakes ‘Ploggensee and Santower See’ offer very beautiful sight.

After leaving the area of Hamberge, the hiking path leads through agricultural land, after that it enters a beech and pine forest.
At the end of this stretch of forest, there is the forest lighting of Eversdorf. At the fork towards Everstorf, there stands one of the best conserved expiatory stones in the District of North West Mecklenburg. The hiking path leads further through the village of Everstorf. Here the Forsthof is worth mentioning. This is an ancient manor house, and is supposed to be one of the oldest manor houses (16th Century) in the district.

After leading out of the village area of Everstorf, the path carries on through woodland and past ploughed fields. Here one often has a very beautiful view over the Mecklenburg country side. At the end of this path one reaches the village area of Hoikendorf. Here, the panorama points of Muehlenberg and, on the way out of the village, in the direction of Barendorf, the Pappelberg (Poplar mountain) with an exquisite panoramic view over the bays of Wismar and of Luebeck. From this viewing point, the path leads further to Jamel and through a small wood to the F 105 road. After crossing over the F 105, one hikes further until the path makes a sharp turn to the right and leads further towards Naschendorf.
You can renew your strength in the "Wolfshoehle" country restaurant, and walk back the last part of the trip to the Old Warin country road to Grevesmuehlen.
