This waterway connects Berlin over the
Havel and the Müritz Elde
Waterway with Hamburg. Boat travellers
can also travel on the Stoer Canal to the State Capital Schwerin.
The Mueritz-Havel Waterway begins at Priepert. A short trip along the
Ellbogensee brings you to the Strasen lock (moorings, restaurant, hotel). The
greater and lesser Paelitz Lakes and Lake Canow See are the next stops. There are limited
mooring facilities before and after the Canow lock. The landing in Muehlenfließ has a
restaurant and ice café. Take care of charted shallows in the approach to the lake.
After the canal journey you come to Diemitzer lock (illustration). Then comes Lake
Vilz (camping), Zethnersee, Schwarzer See, Moessensee (camping) and Zootzensee. There are
moorings in Fleeth, Diemitz and Schwarz. After the Zootzensee comes the Mirow Canal and
after you pass Mirow lock the way is clear to Mueritz and the moorings at Roebel and Waren. |
