Flugapparat Otto Lilienthals
Nowadays, museums all over the world, document the history of aircraft which started with Otto Lilienthal. In the town of Anklam, a special museum was set up. The Otto-Lilienthal-Museum tells an old dream of mankind, the dream to fly
It tells the history from the legend of Icarus to the aircraft.
In the museum, the visitor encounters a great variety of aircraft constructions developed
by Lilienthal. It is here that his experiments are documented. In Anklam, some experimental models may be tested, and one may enter the "cockpit" of the first aircraft in world.
After that, one can better understand, why flying by plane was so difficult to invent.
