The former town hall in the market square at Stavenhagen was the birthplace of the Low German writer and became the museum in 1960. It now houses a fine collection from the life, work and literary achievements of Fritz Reuter.
There is no shortage of events here: guided tours through the exhibition, competent accompanied excursions to the
oaks at Ivenack, events for children, "Plattdütscher Stammtisch" (North German cuisine), Low German presentations, "Mecklenburger Spinnstube" -there is something here for every visitor.
