Klausdorf is the northernmost community in mainland Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It borders on the National Park "Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft".
The old Hanseatic City of Stralsund 15 km. away thrusts its church steeples to the sky. In the near vicinity of the islands of Ruegen and Hiddensee and the Fischland-Darß-Zingst Peninsula you can find broad expanses of undisturbed nature.
Spring and autumn put on a special show for nature loving visitors: tens of thousands of crane come to rest in the fields around Klausdorf. The community includes the former fishing village of Solkendorf and the idyllic old region of Barhöft with its wooded hills and the
sail boat harbour for water sport lovers who steer there from across the Baltic.
The
harbour has 49 moorings and offers excellent services.
