Typical examples of regional building styles from the 17th. to the early 20th. century form the exhibition at Klockenhagen Heritage Museum. There are thatched houses with porches, farm labourers cottages, a bakehouse, spray houses and a half timbered church together with the last preserved bock windmill in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. There is a comprehensive collection of exhibits including traditional farm animals like the Angle saddle pig, rough fleeced Pomeranian sheep and various domestic fowl species. These and the interior fittings in the buildings, the collection of agricultural equipment and the reminders of garden management and sharecrop agriculture all combine to document life on the land as it must have been in times gone by. Bakery demonstrations, special exhibitions and events, portrayals of historic workings and plays by folklore groups on special occasions are all big tourist attractions. |
