The Heritage Museum was opened in the summer of 1954 in the lifeboat depot in the monastery building on the beach. The museum documents local and island history. Information is available there on the Hiddenseer Goldschmuck, the former Cistercian monastery, building types, the lighthouse, the National Park "Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft" and much more. The art gallery in the Heritage Museum and the Gerhart Hauptmann Monument in "Seedorn" house in Kloster are both well worth seeing. |
