| The Rügen Narrow Gauge Railway operates in the finest
part of the Isle of Ruegen - the monastic estate - for the
enjoyment of the tourists, railway enthusiasts and the local population too. The "Rasende Roland" has chugged through the old resorts of Putbus - Binz - Sellin - Baabe and Goehren now for more than 100 years and also through the woods and meadows of this fine countryside. It has always been an attraction for visitors to Rügen. Original historic steam engines dating from the turn of the century offer you an experience that is becoming increasingly rarer in Europe. Since the line was privatised in 1996 it is also on the cards for the company to use it to make holidays on Rügen even more eventful than before. |
