| Megalithic Graves | There
are two Megalithic Graves in the vicinity of Dabel. The first megalithic grave, located directly on road B 192, was set up with seven stones. The seventh megalith is missing, though. The grave is about 5000 years old. The megalith covering the grave is tilted to the south. This grave belongs to the Dolmen and is very rare in Mecklenburg. Rounshaped rocks are laid out in the chamber of the grave. Under the layer of rocks lies a 5cm strong clay-chamber that is yet surrounded by a layer of fired flints (about 3cm thick). These layers are followed by the layer of findings (20 cm). The second grave by the railway tracks near lake Dabeler See is, with a size of 12 by 4 meters the largest in Dabel. |
