The mill of Dabel The Mill of Dabel

The "Gallery-Dutch Windmill" was built in 1892. The Father of today's miller bought the once vacant mill including 10 hectares of land in 1932 for the price of 12000 Reichsmark. Fritz Doescher is the miller since 1969.
To this day, the mill is an acknowledged and "producing technical monument".
The miller supplies the bakeries with flower since decades.
Because of the public performances of the Miller Boys of Dabel on radio and television, the community became well known beyond the borders of Mecklenburg. The group was named after the miller. They can be easily  recognized by their traditional clothing, the clogs, and the red socks pointing to the red sock where the mill stands.
Part of the village festival are the interesting cultural evenings. People particularly enjoyed the dance in the hayloft.
Visitors come from all over Germany and Europe to see the mill. The miller personally takes guests on a tour through the mill. Individual tours are possible at any time, but the miller prefers tours in the second part of the week or on the weekend. Group tours should be arranged with the miller first.
