The small town of Krakow-am-See can claim a wonderful location, an unadulterated environment and the best water quality. The Climatic Health Resort of Krakow-am-See is characterised by an excellent lowland climate of mainly maritime influence.
Lakes with beautifully located islands and a multitude of bays, surrounded by forest-covered hills are an invitation to swim, row, sail, surf and fish. Forests of beeches and a mixture of needle and leaf trees, home to romantic winding hiking trails, offer the walker and hiker peace, rest and relaxation. Hiking trail - Krakow am See
Nature reserve - Krakow am See An area covering 52 sq. kilometres was put under landscape conservation order. The valley between Serrahn and Kuchelmiss, where the mist slowly breaks through, is of fascinating beauty. The "Krakower Obersee" Nature Reserve is a wetland region of international importance with its richness of species and rare aquatic birds. Here, it is still possible to see the sea eagle flying free. Before the town gates of Krakow-am-See, lays the Nossentiner / Schwinzer Heide Nature Reserve.
Whether you discover the landscape on foot, by bike, on horseback or on board the "Frauenlob" passenger boat, you will be impressed by the wonderful interaction of water, forest, soft hills, flora and fauna.
The famous German poet, Fritz Reuter, writing down his impressions of this region, said that paradise was here.
