"Living like a Lord" - Vacation Apartments and "Hotel-Garni"
Luehburg is in an area of varying landscapes, called the Mecklenburger Grundmoraenen. Get onto the Autobahn BAB 19 to get there:
a) exit Rostock "Zentrum" going towards Sanitz on road B110, drive through Sanitz and Tessin.
b) exit Laage going towards Laage on road B108. In Laage follow the signs to Tessin. About 500 m before Tessin turn right to get onto road B110, direction of Gnoien.
The third town after Tessin in the direction of Gnoien is Luehburg. Welcome! Please follow the signs now.

Castle Luehburg had been destroyed in the 30 year war and was rebuilt from 1725 until 1730 in the style of the French three-wing-architecture. It is now the oldest building of this kind in Mecklenburg.
Changes have been made in the 19th century. A fire damaged the house in 1970 and in 1996/97, the building was reconstructed. The layout of the building has been changed into vacation apartments, although, the size of the rooms is still the same. The castle is surrounded by a water channel and a park with trees that are hundreds and hundreds of years old.
Rare birds such as red-backed Shrikes, Yellowhammers, and golden Oriols live there in the Summer.
Each vacation apartment has a kitchenette, bathroom with shower, living room, and 1 or 2 bedrooms. The apartments have central heating, although some bedrooms in the outer section still have a tiled stove.
The apartments are about 50 to 125 sqm in size which is enough room for 2 to 11 people.
You can get to the Baltic Sea in ca. 45 minutes by car. Golfing and boating (Recknitz) in about 8 to 10 km.
After a day of exploring the region, you are probably tired and we recommend to sit out on the patio or to take a relaxing walk in the old park that is so typical of the estates in this region. The little guests are also excited to find some adventure in the house. We have done everything to give a homey atmosphere to visitors of all ages.
For travellers interested in the culture, there are a lot of surprises, experiences, and sights in the neighbourhood.

There is a playground about 100 meters away. About 1 kilometer away from here is a lake with a beach, a climbing frame, and a BBQ area. We also rent out bicycles. If you like, we can arrange hay rides and horseback riding for you.
